PA55 and PA46: Power Team air-driven hydraulic pumps

Air supply and hydraulic pressure are different quantities

The compressed-air connection supplies the motor; the hydraulic outlet provides the oil pressure required by the tool. Selection therefore considers both air flow and pressure at the site and the hydraulic requirements.

The manufacturer’s air consumption figures refer to defined conditions at the pump. A compressor’s nominal pressure alone is not enough to assess the power available.

Valve and operation determine behaviour

The PA family includes versions with different controls. PA46 and PA55 list models for single-acting or double-acting applications and versions with remote control.

It is particularly relevant whether a version holds pressure in a given valve position or releases pressure when the control is released or the drive is switched off. Such functions are always checked against the selected model variant.

Select the pump and tool together

For an existing cylinder, the model, oil volume and required stroke assist pump selection. For a new system, we also consider hose routing, couplings and pressure measurement. The pressure class of one component does not approve the complete combination.
