RLS and RSS: hydraulic cylinders for low installation heights

RLS: low starting height

The RLS series is designed for limited clearances. Its short stroke must match the actual travel required. The dimension table lists two outside dimensions, C1 and C2; these must not be merged into a single round diameter when checking space.

According to the catalogue, the S suffix on RLS versions denotes a swivel load cap. This affects the load contact but does not replace application-specific cylinder selection.

RSS: compact design with model-specific return

The RSS series provides compact cylinders for short working movements. Many models are single-acting with spring return. RSS1002D, which is explicitly identified as double-acting, instead requires an appropriately designed hydraulic circuit.

Even visually similar models may differ in stroke, oil volume and hose connections. The exact model designation is therefore essential when selecting for an existing pump.

Check the complete installation space

Alongside cylinder height, the saddle, hose coupling and hose routing must be included in the space assessment. A sketch showing the smallest clearance and required stroke greatly assists selection.

Important for your enquiry

• What is the smallest free gap before work begins?
• What working travel is required?
